Ryan was holding onto 6th place by two points. Could he pull it off?
First race and he was smoking around that track. The air he was catching was unbelievable. All the kids were racing their hearts out today. One of the riders that was trailing Ryan by 4 points was HOT on his tail. He finally started to pull from him on the 3rd lap and took the checkered flag in 5th place. We were so proud of him and he was too. He just had to hold the two riders (23 and 35) off for one more race.
Second race and he was pumped. Out of the gates he came and off into the first jump. Man...that was some serious air and he hit hard, but he kept on it. Riders 35 and 23 were coming for him and they wanted his points. The last lap, last back of the track they got around him and I just prayed that Ryan would "race until the checkered flag" and he WAS! Coming into the last corner Ryan told his quad "we can do it and its time". The 3 riders were battling for 6th place coming up the hill, all side by side, 10 feet from the finish line. Ryan took the inside, climbed the bumpy hill and gunned it and took 6th place with only about a 1/2 tires lenghth! HE DID IT! HE DID IT!
So overall, he placed 6th out of 12 riders for the day and now we wait to see if he was able to hold onto 6th place for the entire season.
YOU ROCK RYAN!
